JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Education, Operations & Member Support

 

Job Title: Director, Marketing Strategy & Communication

 

Reports to: SVP, Marketing Strategy & Communication

 

Job Purpose: Responsible for the delivery of the Associations marketing, communication, and brand awareness.  Assists with the creation of the marketing strategy and implementation of marketing plans aimed to help achieve our goals. Explore and evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance quality, and/or increase revenue.  Provide accurate and timely communication of PaymentFirst’s services, resources, opportunities, and benefits.  Works closely with the Executive Leadership team.  Deliver valuable and timely payment industry information in an organized and interesting manner.  Manage website design, content creation, digital marketing strategy, as well as social media communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the development of the association’s Strategic Plan and programs
  • Assist SVP in the development of the Marketing and Communication Plan and budget to present to EVP for approval
  • Assist in implementing the approved Marketing Plan
  • Content creation – Digital newsletters, printed and digital marketing campaigns, education class topics updated with compelling session descriptions
  • Design all marketing pieces collaborate with department heads on content – follow the approval process
  • Participation in department annual budget and department monthly expenses
  • Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures for the organization
  • Adhere to the Board approved Bylaws and Association Policies and Procedures
  • Collaborate with SVP to enhance services and/or generate revenue
  • Collaborate with SVP on the analysis, strategy, and plan for ongoing effective communication and marketing strategy
  • Assist with management of website(s) design
  • Assist with the development of conference marketing plan with a timeline including marketing budget and execution
  • Assist SVP with the analysis, strategy, and conference plans as requested
  • Manage all exhibiting including PFI conference & event tables
  • Assist with managing social media strategy and activities receiving input and direction from the SVP
  • Identify innovative opportunities to foster the growth of the Association
  • Contribute to the Nacha RFI, RFC, and Rules Ballot process
  • Serve on industry groups as determined appropriate by Sr. Executive Team
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Hotline support
  • Provide support to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team on shared staffing resources
  • Author member resources (as requested)
  • Use special expertise to provide member education and/or resources 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Financial industry experience is a plus
  • Marketing and communication experience are required
  • An energetic, strategic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player
  • An intelligent and articulate individual with good communication and marketing skills and experience
  • A good example and mentor
  • A decisive leader with good listening skills, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • A leader able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Able to effectively discuss controversial topics
  • Ability to work with Microsoft applications
  • Must be forward-thinking and eager to learn
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses:

One or more of the following accreditations are preferred but not required: Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Certified Payments Professional (CPP), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP), National Check Professional (NCP), Accredited Risk Professional (APRP).
